Scales is 'desperate' to complete Celtic move as medical scheduled - pundit
Liam Scales will be “desperate” to complete a move from Shamrock Rovers to Celtic, according to Alan Hutton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Rangers and Scotland full-back insisted Celtic still need to strengthen at the back before the end of the window.
The Irish Examiner reported today (26 August) the defender will play his final game for Rovers in the Europa Conference League before completing his move to Parkhead.
It is claimed a €600,000 fee (£515,000) and personal terms have been agreed and a medical is scheduled for tomorrow.
Scales, 23, scored in Rovers’ 4-2 loss to FC Flora last week and is set to feature in the return leg in Estonia today.
“They will have obviously done their due diligence, watched him and will know what he’s all about,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“I do think it’s an area where they do need to strengthen. I think Walsh has been brilliant, Starfelt will need some time and Jullien is still to come back. They do have options.
“But they have to strengthen there still. They’ve obviously watched this boy quite a lot.
“When the fee is low, he can come in and improve under Ange Postecoglou moving forward. We’ll see how it goes.
“It’s obviously a big move for him, one he will be buzzing with and he’ll be desperate to come in and impress.
“It’ll be great for him, personally. But we’ll have to see how he holds up with the demands placed on him because he won’t have had that before.
“If it happens, it will be one I’ll keep my eye on.”
