Scottish pundit: Celtic have a future star on their hands after Montgomery reveal
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic have a future star on their hands in young left-back Adam Montgomery.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland international, insisted Ange Postecoglou’s trust in the 19-year-old bodes very well for the future.
As quoted by The National, Postecoglou admitted the youngster had done “awfully well” and that he has “got his head down” to continue improving.
Montgomery has already made 11 appearances for the Bhoys this season, two of which came in the starting XI.
The versatile defender had only played twice for the senior side before Postecoglou’s arrival.
Hutton suggested Celtic need the likes of the academy product to bring some “desire” into the first team.

He claimed Montgomery could be one to watch moving forward at Parkhead.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s featured quite a lot this season. I think he can also play further up so he’s got that versatility about his game.
“Celtic have obviously had a bit of a problem at left-back. With Taylor out injured, they’ve put Juranovic there when Ralston’s at right-back.
“It’s good to have those options. A person who has come through the youth academy knows what it’s all about to play for Celtic.
“He’s got that desire when he’s playing so I think that’s all whole key for Ange. He seems to trust him.
“As one so young, he’s not scared to throw him into big games, which is obviously good for the player as well.
“He’ll be one for the future, I would imagine.”
Montgomery has played 13 times for Celtic’s senior side to date.
He has also featured once for Scotland’s under-21s.
