Rangers are interested in signing Manchester United youngsters Ethan Hamilton and Scott McTominay, according to a report.
The Sun claims that the SPL giants deployed their chief scout John Brown to take a look at the midfielders last week, and they are now seeking to secure loan deals for the young duo.
The newspaper reports that Hamilton, 19, is being tipped to be a huge success in the future for both club and country.
The report claims that it will be harder to snap up McTominay, 20, on loan as he has become a member of the United first-team this season.
However, it is reported that McTominay could be allowed to leave Old Trafford with the likes of Paul Pogba returning to full fitness.
Hamilton is yet to make a senior appearance for United but he has demonstrated that he can provide a goalscoring threat from midfield at youth level, notching up nine goals and four assists in 43 appearances.
McTominay made his breakthrough into the first-team during the latter stages of the previous campaign, and he has managed to retain his place.
The midfielder has featured in four senior matches this season which included him making his Champions League debut.
Football Insider verdict
Rangers can only benefit from acquiring the services of two rising stars from the United academy. Although he is still yet to feature for the senior squad, Hamilton is widely regarded as a special talent and securing a move to Ibrox and playing regular first-team football would further help his development. McTominay has shown that he has a bright future and he already plays with a maturity and composure and he would be a great addition to the Rangers squad. It will be tough to try and convince the youngsters to leave Old Trafford for Glasgow given the current state of affairs at the club right now, but this shouldn’t stop Rangers from pursuing both deals.
