Manchester United have been given a boost by the long-awaited returns of Marouane Fellaini, Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones.

The senior trio are in contention to be named in the United squad for Sunday’s trip to West Brom after returning to full training.

Valencia has not played since October after undergoing foot surgery while Jones has been out since early January with an ankle injury.

But the duo are back in addition to Fellaini, who has been absent with a hamstring injury since the 1-1 draw at Chelsea on 7 February.

“Fellaini, Valencia and Jones are coming back,” manager Louis van Gaal told MUTV on Friday. “But if I don’t have to take a risk, then I won’t.

“We have to let the players who are coming back play in the second team.”

United have won four consecutive matches, including their last two Premier League games to reignite their hopes of a top-four finish.
