Dave Edwards has insisted that Wolves manager Walter Zenga has the “full support” of his squad after Leeds picked up a 1-0 win at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.

Striker Kemar Roofe converted Hadi Sacko’s cross in the second-half as Zenga’s side recorded back-to-back defeats, following their 1-0 loss against Brighton on Tuesday night.

The defeat against the Yorkshire outfit meant that the Midlands side have not picked up a league win in five games, which has put increasing pressure on manager Zenga.

Bu, Edwards defended the former Italy goalkeeper, who is in his first season as manager in English football.

“I can guarantee that every single player is behind the manager,” Edwards told BBC WM. “I don’t think the answer is from outside of what we’ve got already.”

Zenga was appointed manager of the Molineux club seven days before the start of the season, with Chinese businessman Jeff Shi completing the takeover of the club in July.

Wolves are now 18th in the Championship table, having picked up 16 points from 14 games, as they are four points off the relegation zone.

By contrast Garry Monk’s side are in tenth place with 20 points, as the Whites are three points from the final play-off spot, which is currently held by Bristol City.

In other Wolves team news, Leeds supporters on Twitter have urged the club to sign Kyle Bartley permanently, after his performance at Molineux.
