'Sensational', 'Best player on the park' – Celtic fans in awe of one man despite draw v St Johnstone
Celtic fans had to endure a miserable 0-0 draw at home to St Johnstone in the Premiership on Sunday but they were delighted with the performance of centre-back Kristoffer Ajer.
It was a huge comedown after the excesses of Thursday night when Celtic beat Zenit 1-0 in the Europa League with a brilliant performance.
Brendan Rodgers rested some of his senior stars and it showed as they laboured to a goalless draw in front of the home fans.
It meant their lead at the top of the Premiership was cut to just nine points as rivals Rangers moved into second place with a 5-3 win over Hamilton.
And not many Celtic players escaped the wrath of the fans, although Ajer was the big exception.
The 19-year-old enforcer was a rock at the back and a lot of Celtic fans thought he was the best performer on the day.
Some fans even replied to Chris Sutton saying that their player should have been included in his team of the week.
Here are the best reactions to Ajer’s performance on Sunday:
Although Celtic as a team were sh*t, big Ajer was excellent and worthy of a shout.

Great to see Rogic back, Ajer strong, solid at back. On another day would have won comfortably. Need to take chances. Sinclair out of sorts big time

I think players have found out Sinclair plus he is lacking in confidence bigtime just hope he gets it back. Charly and Ajer were great I do think Charly needs to beef up for our game as for Broony replacement Celtic need to spend biig as their is no one at the club good enough

Terrible performance by Celtic today, only player who got pass marks was Ajer. Why does BR keep changing a winning team, they are professionals & should be able to play 2/3 games in a week. Gillian Johnstone

isn’t even close to KTs replacement, also see Ajer going for a large fee in the near future

Kris Ajer in the team for me. He was superb yesterday. Boy is a star

Big Ajer heed and shoulders eday the big man ????????????????????

I've seen more exciting performances from Dianne Abbott attempting to count. Too many changes, no urgency and another chance to extend our lead properly thrown away on a Cold miserable rainy day.
Ajer Man Of The Match.

Ajer was best player on the park but what does that tell us.

I am very concerned about Sinclair, he has hold the ball too long and too scared to run forward into the box. I think Kouassi isn’t ready to replace Broony yet as Broony was big missed. Ajer and Mosunda both played very well.

Outnumbered in midfield, didn’t change it. Ajer & Kouassi sensational, out of form Sinclair, returning Rogic, Musonda not a winger meant we created very little.
