Celtic fans had to endure a miserable 0-0 draw at home to St Johnstone in the Premiership on Sunday but they were delighted with the performance of centre-back Kristoffer Ajer. It was a huge comedown after the excesses of Thursday night when Celtic beat Zenit 1-0 in the Europa League with a brilliant performance. Brendan Rodgers rested some of his senior stars and it showed as they laboured to a goalless draw in front of the home fans. It meant their lead at the top of the Premiership was cut to just nine points as rivals Rangers moved into second place with a 5-3 win over Hamilton. And not many Celtic players escaped the wrath of the fans, although Ajer was the big exception. The 19-year-old enforcer was a rock at the back and a lot of Celtic fans thought he was the best performer on the day.
