Private jet on stand-by: Celtic close to clinching defender deal - report
By Harvey Byrne
Torino are pursuing a late-window £3.75million deal for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic, according to a report.
The Scottish Daily Mail claims that the Serie A side are hoping to fly the Croatia international to Italy on the same private jet as England goalkeeper Joe Hart before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Simunovic only moved to Celtic Park from Dinamo Zagreb in a £3million deal last summer and has four years left on his contract.
But the defender has made just 17 appearances for the Scottish giants and manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to trim a bloated squad.
Simunovic is yet to play under Rodgers after undergoing knee surgery earlier in the year.

The country giants will be keen to improve on their defence after keeping just two clean sheets in their opening 10 matches of the new campaign.
Celtic have been busy during the transfer market, bringing in teenagers Moussa Dembele and Kristoffer Ajer, along with experienced trio Kolo Toure, Dorus de Vries and Scott Sinclair.
In other Celtic transfer news, Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom is preparing for a move to Red Bull Salzburg on a season-long loan deal.
