Jurgen Klopp should make seven changes to his Liverpool line-up for Wednesday’s FA Cup third-round replay against Plymouth.
The Merseyside club were held to an embarrassing 0-0 draw against the League Two side in the first meeting at Anfield as they fielded a youthful side.
Klopp should field a good mix of youth and experience this time around against Plymouth and make seven alterations from the team that drew 1-1 with Manchester United on Sunday.
Loris Karius, Lucas, Joe Gomez, Alberto Moreno, Ovie Ejaria, Ben Woodburn and Daniel Sturridge should return to the side.
Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Emre Can and Divock Origi should be rested.
Liverpool should keep Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino in the team to make sure they book their place in the fourth-round, with Plymouth sure to put a big fight in front of their own fans.
Karius should continue his role as Liverpool’s number two goalkeeper and get the chance to impress, with Mignolet putting down a marker of his qualities in the draw to United with a solid performance.
The Reds should stick with the same back four that played against Plymouth as they were fairly untested in the match and will be keen to keep another clean sheet against them.
Liverpool lacked quality going forward and that is why Kevin Stewart and Sheyi Ojo should be the players to miss out, but could be used by Klopp off the bench.
Henderson, Ejaria and Lallana should start in the midfield and will give the Reds a great chance of breaking down a stubborn defence.
Firmino, Sturridge and Woodburn should form the attacking trio and should have plenty of chances on goal created.
In other Liverpool team news, Garth Crooks has named two of the club’s players in his team of the week.
