Several clubs make approach for Everton midfielder - report
By Danny Wright
A number of Championship clubs have approached Everton with enquiries about young midfielder Liam Walsh, according to a report.
News outlet HITC claims several clubs are eyeing up a loan move for the 19-year-old, who helped the Toffees Under-23 side win the Premier League 2 title last season.
It is understood that Everton are now making a decision on where Walsh will play next season.
The Merseysiders have already seen a clutch of their younger players move to the Championship on loan deals this summer with Matthew Pennington recently joining Leeds and Sunderland snapping up Tyias Browing and Brendan Galloway.
Walsh has only been sent on loan once in his budding career, having spent a short-term spell at Yeovil in 2016 which saw him play 15 times in League Two.

He is yet to make his senior debut for Everton but scored five goals in 19 appearances in the Premier League 2 last time out.
Everton have been one of the busiest teams in the top-flight in the summer transfer market and have made additions to their development squads as well as the first-team.
Boris Mathis and Josh Bowler have been snapped up to play for the Under-23s next season while Henry Onyekuru was sent out on loan to Anderlecht to continue his development.
Football Insider Verdict
Walsh showed brilliant form for the Toffees development squad last season and would have been pushing for a first-team spot if Ronald Koeman hadn’t already strengthened his squad. It looks like the right time for Walsh to go out on loan though. At the age of 19, players have to get experience of senior football and if he isn’t going to get it on Merseyside then he should start to look elsewhere. The Championship is a great league to go to for a young player like Walsh, but Everton need to ensure that he goes to a club where he will get guaranteed football. It’s best if he joins a team that’s likely to finish mid-table as he may get hung out to dry by a promotion contender.
In other Everton news, Koeman has made big decisions on the futures of this senior duo.
