Paddy Kenny expects announcement soon as Sheffield United images emerge

Newly-appointed Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic will surely announce his backroom staff very soon.

That is according to Blades legend Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Serb led his first training session at the club on 1st July.

As per Yorkshire Live later that day, Nick Travis and Matt Duke were pictured speaking to Jokanovic at the session.

Both coaches worked under Chris Wilder at Bramall Lane but Jokanovoic is expected to bring in several members of his own staff too.

Jovanovic, 52, signed a three-year deal when he was appointed Blades boss in May.

Kenny admitted he expected an announcement before now but doesn’t think it will be long before the ex-Fulham boss’s staff is finalised.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “They’ve started pre-season already.

“I can’t see why he hasn’t brought everyone in for the first day when they come back.

“But we don’t know, the people he’s after might be at other clubs and have stuff to sort out.

“That might have put things on hold a bit in terms of getting people through the door.

“I’m sure it won’t be long before it’s sorted out and they can announce something.”

United have been forced to rearrange their pre-season plans to play Braga in Portugal after travel restrictions were imposed because of the pandemic.

They face Birmingham City at Bramall Lane on 7th August as they begin their Championship campaign.
