Paddy Kenny wowed by 'sensational' Jokanovic news at Sheffield United
Slavisa Jokanovic’s track record in the Championship would make him a “sensational appointment” for Sheffield United.
That is according to ex-Blades goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed that the 52-year-old has been interviewed for the post at Bramall Lane.
The Serbian manager has two Championship promotions under his belt, with Fulham in 2015 and Watford in 2018.
Currently managing in Qatar with Al-Gharafa, Jokanovic is understood to be one of the top candidates for the job.
Interim boss Paul Heckingbottom is also on a five-man shortlist, as confirmed by club CEO Stephen Bettis in late April.
Kenny claimed that Jokanovic’s pedigree in the second-tier makes him exactly the sort of manager that the Blades should be targeting.

“He’d be a great appointment,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“He’s got a track record of promotion, so why not get him in? He’s got Fulham and Watford promoted in the past.
“That’s definitely the sort of manager Sheffield United need to bounce back, so it would be great for them. I think he’d be a sensational appointment.
“He could get the confidence back up, get us scoring goals again and hopefully take us up at the first time of asking.”
United’s long-standing manager Chris Wilder left his position in March with the club rooted to the foot of the table.
Heckingbottom was unable to arrest the slide and the Blades’ relegation was confirmed in April.
