Sources: Wolves may sell 'Rolls-Royce' Sanderson for just £2m as Sheffield United plot swoop
Wolves may sell rising-star defender Dion Sanderson for just £2million this summer despite his impressive Sunderland loan, Football Insider understands.
The 21-year-old has been described by Black Cats manager Lee Johnson as an “absolute Rolls Royce” on the back of his displays this season.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider that £2m may be enough to prise him from Molineux in the next window.
He has been highly thought of at the Midlands outfit for some time but has made only a single senior appearance, which came in 2019.
This site revealed at the start of this month that Sheffield United are keeping tabs on the centre-back.
The Premier League club’s talent spotters watched Sanderson in action for the Black Cats last month.

Sunderland’s only hope of being in the race to landing the defender permanently would be if they get promoted this season.
That possibility has increased following an upswing in form, which has taken Lee Johnson’s side to fourth in League One and within two points of the second automatic promotion spot.
Sanderson has been integral to the team’s improvement.
He had to bide his time to establish himself during his loan spell at the Stadium of Light but has started the last seven league matches.
Those have yielded six wins, five clean sheets and a growing appreciation of the young defender’s talents.
Sanderson has made 12 league starts among 20 appearances for Sunderland this season.
Sunderland beat a number of EFL clubs to Sanderson’s signature last summer including Championship big guns Swansea City and Cardiff City.
Wolves opted to loan him out again following his spell at Cardiff last season as appearances at Molineux were likely to be limited.
