Sheffield United told to use 'connections' to lure ex-Leeds star Vieira - Kenny
Sheffield United should take advantage of Ronaldo Vieira’s Yorkshire connections to lure him to the club this summer.
That is according to ex-Leeds goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 23-year-old Sampdoria midfielder.
Yorkshire Live reported on 16th July that the Blades have been invited to make a formal offer for the former Leeds man.
Vieira, who is under contract with Sampdoria until 2023, graduated from Leeds’ academy in 2016 and went on to play for them 71 times.
He endured an injury-hit campaign in 2020-21 and made just four appearances on loan at Hellas Verona.
Kenny claimed that the former England Under-21 star will still have links in Yorkshire after his three years at Leeds.

“He knows England and Yorkshire really well after his time here,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“I’m sure he’s still got friends and connections here as well that he sees on a regular basis. That can be useful for Sheffield United.
“He’s still a young lad but he’s played a lot of games for his age. It would be a great signing for Sheffield United.
“Sampdoria are no dummies. He’s got a great pedigree behind him already and I think he’d do really well here just like he did at Leeds.”
Vieira signed for Sampdoria in 2018 and has gone on to feature 44 times for the Italian big guns.
The Blades are in the market for a new midfielder with Sander Berge widely expected to depart this summer.
