Sheffield Wednesday are plotting a move for Plymouth Argyle wing-back Mickel Miller, sources have told Football Insider.

Miller is sought after by a number of Championship and League One clubs as reported by Football Insider last month, and is available on a free transfer at the end of this month when his Argyle contract expires.

The 28-year-old made 34 league appearances last campaign as Plymouth avoided relegation to the third tier, although 15 of these were as a substitute.

Seven players have so far left Sheffield Wednesday on free transfers, with so far just Reece James, Will Vaulks and Lee Gregory finding new clubs.

Sheffield Wednesday hope to seal Miller deal

Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to use their Championship muscle to secure the deal for Miller ahead of League One clubs rivalling for his signature.

At 28, Miller is seeking what is usually considered to be the biggest contract of a player's career with his age profile.

The left-sided player has experience across both the Championship and League One as well as in Scotland, and has won promotion to the Championship on three separate occasions.

Wednesday have however already completed some business in full-back areas, with Max Lowe and Yan Valery both confirmed as new summer signings, alongside experienced goalkeeper Ben Hamer.

Rohl is now looking to secure a multitude of new recruits to reassemble the squad his way and elevate the club to a stronger position in the Championship.
