Leigh Griffiths delivers Twitter verdict on Celtic demolition of Rangers
By Harvey Byrne
Celtic striker Leigh Grffiths believes their win against fierce rivals Rangers on Saturday showed why the club are the champions of Scotland.
The Hoops travelled to Ibrox for their sixth Old Firm meeting of the season and it also proved to be their joint highest victory against the Gers of this campaign.
Goals from each of Griffiths, Scott Sinclair, Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig ensured that Kenny Miller’s late goal was little more than a consolation while also marking their second 5-1 win against Rangers of the season.
Now, Griffiths was only included in the Celtic line-up due to star forward Moussa Dembele suffering a hamstring injury against the Gers last weekend.
However, the Scotland international paid tribute to the Frenchman on his personal Twitter account after the game stating “no Dembele, no worries, no problems” alongside a image of his goal celebration.

Griffiths’ goal on Saturday marked his ninth Premiership goal in 20 league appearances for this campaign.
He has played a vital role as the backup to Dembele in Brendan Rodgers’ squad and has certainly played his part in the club’s sixth consecutive league title.
With four years still left on his contract he will now be hoping for more Premiership trophies to add to his cabinet alongside goals against Rangers.
