Liverpool have reportedly been linked with a move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in the summer, and fans are delighted to hear the news of the link.
But according to The Sun, the Reds will have to pay up big time for the Foxes ace, who only arrived at the King Power last season, with the player’s contract not due to expire until 2022.
And now that Emre Can is looking likely to leave Anfield in the summer after his contract ends and Juventus waiting in the wings Jurgen Klopp has been on the look-out for a player who can fill the role of the German.
Leander Dendoncker has also been mentioned as a replacement for the 24-year-old as the Reds step up their pursuit of a defensive midfielder.
One supporter said of the rumours that, ‘This would be a sick signing,’ while another added that the acquisition of the Nigerian player would fill a void in the team that opposing sides often took advantage of and tweeted, ‘This news gives me so much satisfaction. Finally we are looking to improve the position that has hurt us the most for the past few years.’
The 6ft 1in midfield supremo has made 38 appearances for the Foxes this season and netted once in that time.
It’s clear from the opinions on social media that the capture of the 21-year-old would go down well amongst the Reds faithful.
Here is a selection of responses on Twitter to potential arrival of Ndidi:
Excellent player. Would be happy with either him or Doucore. I do wish we’d scouted them earlier, though.
