Six Celtic stars to follow Ismaila Soro out the exit door after confirmed news - McAvennie
Frank McAvennie claims that many as "half a dozen" players could follow Ismaila Soro out of the Celtic exit door.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Hoops striker said the Scottish champions will be happy to offload the Ivorian.
FC Aroua confirmed on Saturday (9 July) that they have signed the 24-year-old midfielder on loan for next season.
The deal includes an option to buy.
Soro has a year remaining on his contract with the Parkhead club after joining from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda in 2020.
When asked if a loan move was the best option for Celtic to offload the player, McAvennie told Football Insider: "I think they’d want to sell him
"He’s not had much game time. It’s a strange one, people come in not hitting the ground running at Celtic. Soro came in and maybe he was trying too hard.
"He would get booked as soon as he came on, and the team will have been thinking he’s going to cost us in big games.
"To put him on loan, that covers his wages. I think Celtic will be happy with that. One way or another he had to go, he was surplus to requirements.
"He didn’t see the first team last year. There’s a few who should be out the door. There’s about half a dozen of them that I think could go in between now and the window closing."
