Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas thinks Arsenal forward Theo Walcott needs to consider his future with the club.
The Gunners are in Europa League action tonight against Serbian outfit Red Star Belgrade, knowing that a victory would see them through to the knockout phase of the competition.
Boss Arsene Wenger will continue to rotate his squad in Europe with Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Oliver Giroud all expected to come into side.
The 28-year-old has had limited first-team opportunities this season and Nicholas believes he should reconsider his future with the Premier League club.
“It is awkward for Theo Walcott,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“I don’t think Arsene Wenger trusts him and he isn’t even getting off the bench in the Premier League now, so he really needs to consider his future.”
Walcott is yet to start a Premier League game for Arsenal this season and has made just three substitute appearances.
Three of his five starts in this season have come in the Europe and he scored twice in the 4-2 victory over Bate Borisov in September.
Nicholas is predicting Walcott to score again tonight, in a routine 2-0 win for Arsenal.
That would be enough to guarantee their place in the last 28, the Gunners could still qualify with a draw, if Borisov fail to beat Cologne.
Walcott joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2006, he has scored 107 goals for the North London club.
