Sky: Spanish manager is not in pole position to join Leeds
By Derek Smithson
Aitor Karanka is not the favourite to become the new Leeds manager despite the latest odds from bookmakers, according to a report.
The Whites are on the search for a new first team manger following Garry Monk’s departure and ex-Middlesbrough Karanka boss has emerged as the favourite.
Sky Bet have priced the Spaniard as the 1/5 clear favourite to take charge at Elland Road, with Claudio Ranieri (9/2), Simon Grayson (14/1) and Pep Clotet (16/1) others that have been shortlisted.
However, Sky Sports report on their transfer centre blog (2:33pm, Thursday) that Karanka is not the favourite for the vacant mangers job.
A wave of bets were placed on the 43-year-old to become the new Whites boss after the Yorkshire club appointed Victor Orta as their new director of football.

Karanka and Orta worked together at the Riverside for Middlesbrough, which has led to a number of people believing the pair are destined for a reunion at Elland Road.
However, Sky Sports’ report suggests that he is not in pole position to become the new Leeds boss and hints that owner Andrea Radrizzani has someone else in mind.
The Championship club are on the search for a new senior man after Monk’s resignation and it’s still unclear who will be trying to obtain promotion next season.
