Charlie Nicholas: This is when Brendan Rodgers will quit Celtic
By Danny Wright
Charlie Nicholas believes that Brendan Rodgers will get bored as Celtic manager – and when that happens he will quit the Scottish club.
The Sky Sports pundit talked up the brilliant signings that Rodgers has made in his debut season at Celtic Park, but ultimately thinks that the league will become too easy for the Bhoys and that their manager will pursue a career elsewhere.
Nicholas, who spent five years as a Celtic player in the early 1990s, also heaped praise on this season’s stand-out duo Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.
The two summer signings have scored a staggering 50 goals between them in all competitions this season, with calls for Dembele to join a top Premier League club, while Sinclair has been eyeing a return to the England national side.
“The team Brendan has assembled are certainly value for money,” said Nicholas to Sky Sports. “They are good to watch and the best Celtic side I’ve seen for five or six seasons with their style of play.

“He’s made some good signings – Moussa Dembele obviously stands out and Scott Sinclair has done well, but he didn’t make it in England.
“Stuart Armstrong and Kieran Tierney have also come on under Brendan. If Brendan stays I think they will continue to get better and he’ll stay until he gets bored, and he will, before moving on.”
Rodgers is yet to lose a domestic game this season with his Celtic side on the brink of winning their first treble since 2001.
The Scottish League Cup is already in the bag and the Bhoys can secure a sixth consecutive league title on Sunday if they grab all three points at Hearts.
A clash with Rangers awaits them in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup in what would be Rodgers’ final pursuit of silverware in his debut campaign.
In other Celtic news, the club are reportedly in a race with a big Premier League club for a 26-year-old winger.
