Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted Leeds to draw 1-1 with Reading on Tuesday night at Elland Road.
The former Nottingham Forest midfielder also believes Whites manager Garry Monk will be “disappointed” that his side were unable to play to their best against Brighton last Friday.
Chris Hughton’s side picked up all three points at the Amex Stadium to stall Monk’s chances of a promotion push.
Leeds now come up against Jaap Stam’s Royals who are flying high in the league in third place and six points off leaders Newcastle.
Former Southampton player Prutton provided his verdict on the fixture and explained why both teams will leave with a point.
“These two will be very happy with their lot so far this season and there isn’t much between them,” Prutton wrote in his Sky Sports column. “Garry Monk was disappointed with his team at Brighton as they didn’t really play to their optimum level. I’m sure they’ll be back to their normal levels for this clash.
“Leeds are strong at home but Reading will travel there in good heart after a very impressive win over Sheffield Wednesday. Draw.”
Monk’s side currently occupy the final play-off spot as they are on 32 points from 20 league games.
Dropped points against their promotion rivals in midweek can see up to four teams leapfrog the Yorkshire club in the table.
The Championship giants have won three out of their last five matches at Elland Road, while Reading were thumped 5-0 last time they were on their travels.
Leeds will be hoping their top scorer, Chris Wood can get on the scoresheet once again, with the New Zealand international on ten goals in 20 league games.
After this game, Monk’s side will welcome league strugglers Brentford to Yorkshire as they aim for another valuable three points.
In other Leeds news, manager Garry Monk has made a plea to supporters ahead of two crucial fixtures.
