Sky Sports pundit Scott Minto believes Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will make “at least eight changes” for the Tottenham clash on Sunday afternoon.
Prior to United playing Spurs at White Hart Lane at the weekend, they will participate in a Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday night against La Liga outfit, Celta Vigo.
It is a second leg fixture and the winner of that encounter will progress through to the final where they have the opportunity to claim a place in next season’s Champions League.
Mourinho’s team currently sit outside of the top four, with the Portuguese making eight changes during their previous league fixture against Arsenal.
Former Chelsea defender, Minto won’t be surprised if Mourinho opts to go down the same route once again for the weekend game.
“Jose Mourinho made eight changes for the Arsenal game, I will not be surprised if he makes at least eight changes again,” Minto told Coral’s YouTube account.
“Everything for me screams towards Tottenham winning this game plus the fact that they have the best defence in the Premier League and by far the best home defence.
“It’s a Tottenham win and keeping a clean sheet.”
United’s game against Spurs on Sunday will be their fourth match in ten days, with their opponents playing two matches during that period, including the one at the weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten 1-0 away at West Ham last Friday and they will be looking to bounce back from that costly defeat.
During their reverse fixture in December, United claimed a 1-0 win at Old Trafford when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first Premier League goal was enough to seal all three points.
Playmaker Mkhitaryan played 60 minutes for United as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last Sunday.
In other Tottenham news, this out-of-sorts senior man could be axed for the Manchester United clash.
