Sky Sports pundit: This much improved Tottenham player will soon play for England
By Harry Sykes
Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham has claimed that Kieran Tripper will be the next of Tottenham’s brilliant home-grown players to win an England cap.
Spurs’ core of British players have been the driving force behind a brilliant season that could still end with a stunning league and cup double.
Tottenham head into Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final showdown against Chelsea on the crest of a wave following a remarkable run of seven consecutive Premier League wins.
Trippier was given the nod to start ahead of Kyle Walker at right-back for Spurs’ 4-0 demolition of Bournemouth last Saturday and will be in contention to be in the team against Antonio Conte’s side.
In addition to Walker and Trippier, other home-grown players central to Mauricio Pochettino’s young and vibrant side are Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Danny Rose and Ben Davies.

“Spurs have one of the youngest squads in the league but it is not a hindrance because of their experience,” wrote regular Sky pundit Higginbotham in his weekly Sun column.
“It is no surprise they are full internationals already bar Trippier — and he could win an England cap soon.”
Former England Under-21 international Trippier has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, spread across 1,103 minutes of action.
He has developed his game under Pochettino since joining from Burnley in the summer of 2015 for a fee of £4million.
Meanwhile, Spurs have been given a real glimmer of hope in the title race by Chelsea’s recent stutters in which they have lost two of their last four matches.
The gap between leaders Chelsea and second-placed Spurs has been narrowed to four points with six matches of the campaign remaining.
The two sides will take a break from the title to aim for the FA Cup win that will secure a place in next month’s final against Arsenal or Manchester City, who will play one another on Sunday.
In other Tottenham team news, the club have sensationally terminated the contract of one of their defenders.
