Sky Sports pundits Charlie Nicholas and Matt Le Tissier have both decided against including Harry Kane in their team of the season.
With the year nearly over, the Sky Sports pundits were asked to name their team of the season based on what they’ve seen so far.
Phil Thompson and Paul Merson both opted to name Kane as their striker of choice, with Merson labeling the ace “consistent” and able to score “big goals in big games.”
Merson added that even when Kane hardly had a kick of the ball in the game against Manchester City, he still forced Ederson to make “world-class” saves.
However, the Spurs striker’s performances failed to convince Nicholas or Le Tissier, with both selecting Manchester City stars instead.
Le Tissier revealed he gave the nod to Sergio Aguero rather than Kane, with the Manchester City striker scoring 10 goals in 12 starts.
Nicholas revealed he preferred an inter-changing front three of Raheem Sterling, Mohamed Salah and Leroy Sane because Kane has had a “dip” in form.
Kane has failed to score in his last two league outings, but has 18 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham this season.
If the Spurs striker fails to score in Tottenham next game against Burnley on Saturday, it will equal his longest run in the league this season without a goal.
