Sky Sports’ Scottish football experts Ian Crocker and Andy Walker have given their predictions ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Cup Final between Celtic and Motherwell.
In their column on Sky Sports both men are tipping Celtic to win a tight game of few goals.
Crocker is going for 2-1 to Celtic, and his key player for the game is Moussa Dembele. He states that both he and Celtic “always seem to find a way” to win games, although he concedes that “this one might be tight”.
He also singles out Motherwell’s star striker Louis Moult for praise.
Dembele showed that he is back to his form of last season with the opening goal after only a minute in Celtic’s 7-1 midweek defeat to PSG.
Walker – who played for both Celtic and Motherwell – is also going for a 2-1 Celtic win.
His key player is Stuart Armstrong, who he describes as a “likely starter with a tremendous goal threat”.
Armstrong – who didn’t play against PSG in midweek – has a habit of scoring important goals, getting the equaliser in Celtic’s last cup final appearance, the 2-1 Scottish Cup Final win over Aberdeen in May.
The Hoops go into Sunday’s game on a British record of 64 domestic games unbeaten.
They won last season’s Betfred Cup Final 3-0 against Aberdeen, with Rogic, Forrest and Dembele the scorers.
In other Celtic news, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed a double injury blow ahead of Sunday’s game
