Sky Sports: Update given on reported Tottenham transfer talks
By Russell Edge
Tottenham have refuted claims that they have held discussions with Real Madrid over a potential deal for striker Harry Kane, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reports on their website that sources at Spurs have distanced themselves with a report from radio station Onda Cero which suggests that the north London and Spanish clubs held informal transfer talks during their Champions League clash on Tuesday.
The report is said to suggest that Tottenham quoted Los Blancos a price tag of £200million for the 24-year-old forward, and that Real would be willing to include former Spurs star Gareth Bale as part of the deal.
However Sky Sports’ report says that Spurs rubbish the claims and insist that their key man is not for sale no matter the offer.
Kane has been in incredible goal scoring form since breaking into the first team at the north London club, with 110 goals in 176 appearances across all competitions, and he is contracted until 2022.

Football Insider verdict
After all the rumours about Harry Kane’s future fans will be relieved that the club have refuted this one, which would have caused much concern to those who saw it. £200million is an extraordinary amount of money but to a club the size of Real Madrid, it really would not be too much of a stretch to meet those demands. Kane is Tottenham’s key asset and is pivotal to their future success, and so letting him depart would be devastating. Yes, that amount of money would allow a lot of future investment and even help fund their new stadium, but as Spurs saw with the sale of Gareth Bale, future signings do not always have the impact you expect, and it is unlikely anyone in the world could replace Kane in terms of his goal scoring exploits.
In other Tottenham transfer news, an experienced manager has admitted he is keen to secure a deal for this top prospect.
