Sky Sports use emphatic two words to deliver Payet-West Ham transfer update
By Harry Sykes
West Ham are “miles away” from reaching an agreement with Marseille for the sale of Dimitri Payet, according to a report.
Sky Sports delivered an update on their transfer centre blog (Saturday, 8.46am) about the club’s attempts to drive through a deal for Payet in the final days of the window.
The Premier League outfit have held extensive talks with their counterparts at Marseille about the transfer of the wantaway France international.
But Sky report that “time is running out” and that an agreement for Payet to return to his former club is still “miles away”.
West Ham have slapped a £30million price tag on the 29-year-old Euro 2016 star, while Marseille value him at around £25million.

Payet has been banished from Slaven Bilic’s first-team squad and is training with the Under-23s after making it clear he does not want to play again for the Hammers.
It has been reported that Marseille have had three offers rejected by West Ham for the playmaker, the latest offer amounting to little over £22million.
There does not appear to be any way back into the first team for Payet at West Ham even if he is forced to remain at the club until the end of the season.
The players have turned their backs on him, after reports emerged that he had been removed from their WhatsApp group, and their recent form in the Premier League suggests that they can perform just fine without him.
Bilic’s side have won five of their last seven league matches, including their last two against Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough.
In other West Ham transfer news, the club have clinched a big-name deal despite being outbid by their Premier League rivals’ £65,000-a-week offer.
