A section of Rangers supporters want the club to sell Josh Windass after his £3million release clause was revealed.
Windass’ dad, Dean, revealed that his son’s release clause did not increase when he signed his new deal at Ibrox, leaving it at a bargain £3million.

The Express report that Cardiff City are looking to trigger his release clause, but considering how low the clause is, there is sure to be plenty of interest in the 24-year-old.
One supporter said he wasn’t bothered if Windass was to leave the club and that in his opinion, he’s done nothing in his two seasons at Ibrox.
Football Insider has rounded up the best tweets from a section of Rangers supporters about potentially selling Windass:
If Windass decides to leave for Cardiff after achieving absolutely nothing in his 2 seasons here then that says a lot about him! £3 million isn’t great but some weeks he doesn’t look worth £3 so I’m no really bothered if he goes x

Rangers are not thinking about selling Windass on the cheap. His release clause is 3 million. They have no options.

might be an unpopular opinion but I’d rather take the 3 million for windass and actually have a player who is consistent throughout the season to take his place

The same people that slated windass and slaughtered him on social media are all changing there tunes now. Wouldn’t bother me if he left tbh

Football Insider verdict:
The Rangers fans are obviously angry at the reveal of Windass’ release clause, but he’s a talented young player who is going to have dips in form during the season. Gerrard should tell him to stay and then he can coach him and make him a better player. He will also get regular football at Ibrox, something the Premier League clubs might not be able to offer straight away. There’s obviously going to be interest with the release clause being as low as it is, but Rangers will be able to sell him for far more than £3million if he improves – they should do everything they can to keep Windass.
In other Rangers news, this player could well be the next to make the breakthrough at Ibrox
