AFC Wimbledon have registered their interest in signing Chelsea youngster Henry Lawrence, Football Insider understands.

The versatile youngster, 19, has been targeted after being a regular for the Blues’ under-23s side last season.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that the club could loan out Lawrence for the season and Wimbledon are among his suitors.

The teenager can operate in both full-back positions, central midfield as well as wide midfield.

His potential departure comes as another Chelsea youngster, Marc Guehi, finalises a permanent move to Crystal Palace.

The source revealed that Guehi has already passed a Palace medical and agreed the terms of a five-year contract.

A graduate of the Blues' academy system, the 20-year-old centre-back made two first-team appearances for the London giants.

They both came in the League Cup during the 2019/20 campaign.

Guehi also played 59 times for Swansea City across two separate loan spells in Wales.

His performances, which helped the Swans to the Championship play-offs in both seasons, caught the eye of Palace's talent spotters.

He is now on the verge of completing a permanent move to Selhurst Park.

The Abidjan-born defender could be followed out the door by England under-20 international Lawrence.

Chelsea are considering giving the teenager the green light to leave on loan and Wimbledon have made their interest known.

A versatile full-back who can play on either flank or as a defensive midfielder, Lawrence is yet to make his senior bow.

However, he was an unused substitute for the Blues' 4-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich back in August 2020.
