Sources: Ancelotti and Brands set sights on luring 'world-class' forward to Everton
Everton have set their sights on signing an A-list right-winger, Football Insider has learned.
Carlo Ancelotti and the recruitment team led by director of football Marcel Brands are formulating their transfer plans going into the summer window.
An Everton source has told Football Insider that Ancelotti is not satisfied with the right-sided attacking options at his disposal and wants to upgrade.
The manager’s plan is to recruit a “world class” wide forward who can provide cutting edge from the right flank.
The source explained that Ancelotti does not believe the current attackers are at their most effective on that side.
James Rodriguez, the marquee signing of last summer, began the season there and made an instant impact with goals and assists.

But he has been used in more central roles when he has been available in recent months.
Ancelotti believes Richarlison and Alex Iwobi, who have also been used on the right, are more effective on the left or centrally.
The manager has often tweaked his formation to a 5-3-2, with the width provided by the wing-backs.
That was the case once again on Sunday, with three central defenders selected as full-backs Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne were used in more attacking roles.
Owner Farhad Moshiri has already made it clear to Ancelotti he will have rein to spend big in the main summer market.
That is likely to mean a £100million-plus outlay on top talent in a similar mould to last summer.
Another priority is to bring in a top-class centre-back who can become the team’s new defensive leader.
Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is a top target for Everton even though he turns 30 next month.
