Arne Slot will now rotate between Andy Robertson and Milos Kerkez after the Hungarian's difficult start to life at Liverpool, sources have told Football Insider.

The former Bournemouth defender has started all four of the Reds' Premier League games so far this season.

However, Kerkez was substituted in the first half against Burnley after being shown an early yellow card for simulation.

Sources say that the 21-year-old will now be rotated with Robertson more regularly, as Slot looks to solidify the left-hand side of his defence.

Andy Robertson to play an important role for Liverpool

When Liverpool signed Kerkez from Bournemouth, it became clear that Robertson's game time would be reduced as a result.

The 31-year-old has been a regular fixture in the Reds' starting lineup since he joined back in 2017, but in recent times, he has shown a slight decrease in performance levels.

However, Robertson is still Liverpool's vice-captain, and with Kerkez out of form, it would be no surprise if Slot turned to the Scotland international to steady the ship.

There is no doubt that the experienced defender will fight for his place in the side, and play an important role for the Merseyside club throughout the season.

Liverpool to beat Man City and Real Madrid to signing

Meanwhile, Liverpool are confident they will win the race for Marc Guehi, beating the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, sources have told Football Insider.

Despite agreeing a British record deal for Alexander Isak on transfer deadline day, the Reds were dealt a blow when they missed out on Guehi.

Football Insider revealed on 12 September that Man City are plotting a move for Guehi alongside the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

However, Slot’s side remain confident of getting a deal over the line in 2026, with the centre-back widely expected to leave Crystal Palace for free.
