Sources: Arsenal set sights on two January signings after Gabriel Jesus update
Arsenal are not planning on signing a replacement for Gabriel Jesus in January, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners are expected to be without their star summer signing when the Premier League resumes this month after he suffered a knee injury while on World Cup duty for Brazil.
But Arsenal have no plans at this stage to delve into the transfer market for a loan or permanent striker signing to beef up Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The Londoners are in the market for signings in January as they look to maintain their title challenge.
But they are targeting other positions, with a wide attacker and central midfielder as their priorities.
It is believed manager Mikel Arteta will have a kitty of over £50million to work with in January if the right players can be found.

Jesus, 25, picked up his most recent injury during Friday’s (2 December) 1-0 defeat against Cameroon, coming off in the 64th minute.
The Arsenal man has featured in all three of Brazil’s group games but the Cameroon game marked his first start in the competition.
He scored five goals and registered six assists in 14 Premier League outings for the Gunners during the first period of the 2022-23 season.
Jesus is the second Arsenal player to see their World Cup end early as Ben White has also left the England camp due to “personal reasons”, as confirmed by the FA on Thursday (1 December).
Arsenal’s next competitive fixture comes against West Ham on Boxing Day.
