Sources: Arsenal ready to accept offer for Rangers target Auston Trusty

Arsenal are willing to accept a summer offer for Rangers target Auston Trusty, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners are keen to get Trusty off the books permanently at the end of the season and a move to Ibrox is an option.

The 24-year-old has spent the season on loan at Championship side Birmingham City where he has made 48 appearances and scored four goals.

The USA international joined Arsenal from MLS side Colorado Rapids in January 2022 but has struggled to stake a claim in the first team, having spent the second half of the 2021-22 season and the duration of the 2022-23 season on loan.

The centre-back was named Men’s Supporters’ Player of the Season last week after an impressive first season in England with Birmingham.

Speaking to club media (13 May), Trusty said he is “honoured” to represent the club and is “thankful” for their support throughout the year.

Rangers are looking to add defensive reinforcements this summer as they prepare to lose Filip Helander when his contract expires at the end of the season after a disappointing end to a period in Glasgow plagued by injuries.

The Gers have massively struggled this season when star man Connor Goldson has been out injured, with summer arrival John Souttar only recently returning to fitness.

19-year-old Leon King is waiting in the wings for his chance in the first team but has fallen down the pecking order since the arrivals of Souttar, Ben Davies and the appointment of Michael Beale as manager.

In other news, Rangers are at risk of losing £16m as critical July date looms.
