Sources: Barnsley set to sign Luton Town star Harry Isted as Jack Walton moves in other direction

Barnsley are set to sign Luton Town goalkeeper Harry Isted on loan with Jack Walton moving the opposite way on a permanent deal, sources have told Football Insider.

Luton have agreed a deal to sign Walton in a permanent deal from Barnsley as they look to provide cover and competition for first-choice keeper Ethan Hovarth.

Barnsley have moved to replace Walton by agreeing to take Isted, 25, on loan for the second half of the season.

Isted has only made one Championship appearance for Barnsley this season, in a 2-0 loss to Stoke City on 8 November.

In fact, Isted has only made three senior appearances for Luton since moving to the club as a youth player in 2017.

Since moving to Kenilworth Road, the goalkeeper has spent time on loan at Chesham United, Oxford City then two separate spells at Wealdstone.
