Bayer Leverkusen have agreed to sign Man City sensation Sam Edozie for £10million, Football Insider has learned.

The Bundesliga club have secured a breakthrough in negotiations following new developments.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leverkusen have a full agreement for the transfer of Edozie, 19.

The wide forward has agreed personal terms and City will be paid a fee of £10m for the rising star.

Edozie is set to follow the path forged by former Citizens star Jadon Sancho, who left the club for Dortmund in 2017 before returning to England with Man United last summer (2021).

The right-footed talent will become the second youngster to quit the Etihad Stadium for Germany this summer - with fellow winger Jayden Braaf already joining Dortmund last month.

Edozie, who came through the ranks at Millwall, made 16 youth-team appearances in the 2021-22 season, scoring three goals and notching two assists.

His only senior game for Man City came in the Community Shield defeat against Leicester in August 2021.

The winger has racked up 14 goals and 10 assists across 58 appearances in the youth set-up at City.

The England Under-19 international's contract was set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Edozie is one of a number of young talents likely to leave the Man City set-up this summer.

Midfield star Romeo Lavia has been linked with an exit - while Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, 20, has already left for Southampton.

City are also set to lose key wide options from their senior ranks as Gabriel Jesus inches closer to being named Arsenal's newest capture.

Raheem Sterling has also been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.
