Sources: Big hint emerges from Brighton that Mac Allister is heading to Liverpool

Brighton’s imminent capture of Mahmoud Dahoud suggests that Alexis Mac Allister is joining Liverpool this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Seagulls are resigned to losing the Argentina international in the summer window and have made a new central midfielder a top priority.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have already made early moves to sign James Milner and Borussia Dortmund star Mahmoud Dahoud to bolster their midfield department.

But it is understood that Brighton are eager to sign another midfielder using funds gathered from the sales of Moises Caicedo and Mac Allister.

Brighton targeting a midfielder will be well-received news at Anfield, with Liverpool interested in signing Mac Allister as part of their midfield overhaul this summer.

He has only become more admired by Jurgen Klopp and his staff around Anfield after impressing at the Amex Stadium in recent seasons.

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Caicedo’s availability after having multiple January bids rejected.

Caicedo has made 40 appearances for Brighton this season, scoring and assisting once while playing in a defensive midfield role.

He ranks second in the Premier League for tackles made, with his 99 this season only trailing behind Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.
