Sources: Big update on Arsenal bid to re-sign Kamara from Rangers as offer revealed

Arsenal have registered their interest in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League giants are in the market for a new central midfielder ahead of the summer window.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Arsenal have shortlisted Kamara, 25, as a potential target and have let it be known they are willing to offer him a five-year deal.

It comes as Rangers work on tying Kamara to a new contract.

Rangers value Kamara at more than £10million after signing him for £50,000 in January 2019.

Kamara has been an integral part of Gerrard’s Rangers side who have swaggered to the Scottish Premiership title this season.

He has featured 28 times in the league and 49 times across all competitions, those appearances yielding two goals and two assists.

His dynamism and work ethic have won hearts and minds at Ibrox and caught the eye of Arsenal.

Kamara is an Arsenal academy graduate and penned his first professional terms with the club in 2014.

He made just one senior appearance for the Gunners, in a League Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015.

Kamara spent time on loan with Southend and Colchester before signing for Dundee in July 2017.

After one-and-a-half seasons with the Dark Blues, the 27-time Finland international signed for Rangers at the mid-point of the 2018-19 campaign.

He is widely regarded as one of Rangers’ best-value acquisitions in recent years.
