Sources: Big update on Nagelsmann talks with Tottenham
Tottenham are not hopeful of appointing Julian Nagelsmann in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The North London club made the 35-year-old a top target following his sacking at Bayern Munich, but they have concerns about his intentions.
Spurs are worried that Naglesmann is using their interest as leverage to secure another top job in Europe.
Football Insider sources revealed at the start of the month that Nagelsmann had been made Tottenham’s top target and that they were happy to wait until the summer to appoint him.
It is now understood that Nagelsmann would prefer an extended break after his stint in Germany and has privately ruled out joining Spurs – or any other club – before the end of the season.
During his two-year spell at Bayern, Nagelsmann helped the German giants win the Bundesliga title in 2022 as well as two DFL-Supercups.

He was sacked late in March despite boasting a perfect record in the 2022/23 Champions League campaign, and he left the club with an impressive 71.4 per cent win rate in his 84 matches in charge.
It is understood that Nagelsmann wants his next project to have a squad placed for instant success and he does not believe that Tottenham fit that bill.
Tottenham are continuing to consider all other options with a deal not looking likely at the moment.
Finding a new manager could be made even more difficult if Spurs miss out on Champions League qualification – they currently sit sixth in the table after losing back-to-back games to Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
