Sources: Big update on Rangers bid to sign Lundstram after approach

Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram has no plans to join Rangers at the end of the season, Football Insider has been told.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at Bramall Lane in the summer and has resisted offers from the Premier League club to extend it.

Rangers are among the clubs who have registered an interest in Lundstram, who revealed last week “everything’s still on the table” and his future remains undecided.

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that the central midfielder is not considering a move to Ibrox this summer.

He has multiple offers on the table, including from Premier League clubs, as he prepares to become a free agent.

Blades boss Chris Wilder revealed in November that Lundstram will not be signing a new deal and admitted he could be sold in January.

That did not transpire and the former England Under-20 international remains a key member of the United side after a short spell out of the team.

He has started the club’s last six Premier League matches and played a key role in a revival which has secured wins against Newcastle United, Man United and West Brom.

Lundstram has started 15 league games among 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

He move to Bramall Lane from Oxford United in 2017 for around £500,000 and has played extensively in all four professional divisions in England .

In other news, Gerrard “is set to stay at Rangers for five more years” and this is music to the ears of fans.
