Borussia Dortmund are lining up a big offer for Man United academy star Dan Gore, sources have told Football Insider.

The German giants have shared a long-term interest in the 19-year-old and are prepared to enquire about his availability in January.

It is understood that Dortmund's recruitment team are keen on making Gore their next target by submitting a 'big bid' for him next summer if a January deal is not available.

Man United

Dortmund's transfer policy in recent years has included signing upcoming Premier League stars by promising them a fast-track route to first-team football in the Bundesliga.

Like seen with Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, Dortmund have targeted young stars in need of first-team action before selling them on for a big fee years later.

Gore has shone in United's academy setup since 2018 when he signed from Burnley - he was voted the Manchester United reserve team Player of the Year for the 2022/23 season.

After five years of progressing through United's youth setup, Gore made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils on Boxing Day when he came on in the 3-2 win over Aston Villa as a late substitute for Christian Eriksen.

Gore has also been in multiple first-team squads at United as a substitute, including in their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich earlier this season.

The young attacking midfielder also has experience on the international stage after representing England at Under-18s level earlier in his career.
