Sources: Bournemouth and QPR plot moves to sign Derby County star Lawrence

Bournemouth and Queens Park Rangers are plotting moves to sign Tom Lawrence from crisis club Derby County, Football Insider understands.

Derby are battling to keep hold of their best players after they were hit with a new transfer embargo due to their financial problems.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Rams captain Lawrence, 28, is being tracked by a number of clubs ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.

Bournemouth and QPR are among those looking to lure the attacker for a nominal fee as administrators look to save money at Pride Park.

The Championship duo believe the Wales international could boost their promotion bids in the second half of the season.

Derby boss Wayne Rooney will be reluctant to see the 23-cap star leave as the Rams look to pull off a sensational survival bid.

However, the club’s financial issues could throw Lawrence’s future up in the air.

The versatile winger joined Derby from Leicester City back in 2017.

He has played 170 times for the Rams to date, with 33 goals and 23 assists under his belt.

The Wales ace scored a sublime brace in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United.

His performances at Pride Park have caught the attention of several clubs in the market for a creative attacker.

Second-placed Bournemouth are keen to add Lawrence to their ranks.

Cherries boss Scott Parker has relied heavily on Jaidon Anthony on the left flank this season.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed QPR are also in the hunt for Lawrence’s capture.

Chris Willock has been the Hoops’ star performer out wide this term.
