Brendan Rodgers is set to field interest from the English Premier League and across Europe as he eyes a return to management after leaving Celtic.

Rodgers resigned as manager of Celtic in October against a backdrop of disagreements with the board over transfer strategy and declining results on the pitch.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, the 52-year-old is ready to return to management already, and has no shortage of suitors as he has become one of the most sought-after out-of-contract managers.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Rodgers is keen to return to England and is assessing his options after leaving Glasgow.

While his time at Celtic ended in dramatic circumstances, the boss' success north of the border as well as his experience in the Premier League with Liverpool and Leicester.

Premier League and European clubs plot Brendan Rodgers swoop

Football Insider revealed on 21 November that Premier League clubs are eyeing Rodgers in case they are forced into a change of boss, with Fulham among the contenders.

However, the West London club are reluctant to part ways with Marco Silva as things stand, while the former Celtic boss is keen to assess all of his options.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: "I'm sure Rodgers himself will have a lot of options to consider and maybe not just in the Premier League but also abroad at some point.

"If there's any club out there who needs a manager at the highest level, Brendan Rogers is going to be in contention.

"He’s probably one of the best free-agent managers on the market right now as well, he’s Premier League proven from his time at Liverpool and Leicester and had success at Celtic.

"Fulham's priority right now is to try and tie down Marco Silva to a new deal and any speculation over a move away.

"But if any top jobs that do come up between now and in the new year Brendan Rodgers is obviously going to figure in the thinking of a number of clubs.

“He’s still regarded as one of the best managers around, and his availability will attract interest from a lot of clubs."

Rodgers waiting for the right opportunity after leaving Celtic

Given the level of interest in his situation, Rodgers is expected to receive a number of offers to return to management before the end of the season, and must make the right choice.

Rodgers was a leading contender for the Wolves job, but opted against pursuing a move to the Premier League's bottom side, who ultimately appointed Rob Edwards.

Wolves' 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Molineux on 22 November means they have taken just two points from 12 Premier League games and are now nine points clear of safety.

More recently, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 November that Fulham could approach Rodgers about taking over from Marco Silva.

Silva has been offered a new contract at Fulham, but there are lingering doubts about whether he will extend his stay, and Rodgers could be tempted into a return.
