Solly March is in advanced talks with Brighton over a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The 28-year-old's current deal with the Seagulls expires next summer, but his new four-year contract will extend his stay at the Amex Stadium until 2028.

Brighton made contract talks with March a top priority after finalising a new deal for midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The club have been in negotiations with March for a few weeks now and they are growing more and more optimistic that the contract will be signed soon.

It is understood that the English winger is happy at Brighton and eager to extend his stay at the club following their success this season.

March has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring seven times including twice in his last two games against Leeds United and Crystal Palace.

He has only missed one Premier League fixture for Brighton all season when he was absent from the Newcastle United clash in February.

March has shone under Roberto De Zerbi since he was appointed manager in September, and the Italian has challenged the Brighton winger to improve his game even further this season.

“Attack the space better,” he said. “Keep the ball. Possession, for example, is an improvement he has to make. To shoot more (often) on goal."

March has been at Brighton for over a decade after joining the club in 2011, and he is currently experiencing the most productive campaign of his career with 11 goal contributions.
