Sources: Burnley agree £4m Scott Twine deal with MK Dons

Burnley have agreed a £4million deal with MK Dons for Scott Twine, Football Insider understands.

The 22-year-old has been linked with multiple EFL clubs as well as Rangers following his outstanding 20-goal and 13-assist League One campaign in 2021-22.

A Burnley source has told Football Insider the club are now closing to finalising a deal for Twine after a breakthrough in talks.

An agreement is in place and the transfer could be completed soon.

New manager Vincent Kompany is keen to rebuild his side following relegation from the Premier League and sees Twine as a key addition to his team.

Football Insider reported on Thursday (23 June) that they have had a £2million bid for defender Daniel Ballard accepted by Arsenal.

A recruitment source also told this site earlier this week (21 June) that the Clarets are in advanced talks to sign Man City centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

They are in the market for defensive reinforcements after Ben Mee and James Tarkowski left the club at the end of the 2021-22 season.

The club confirmed on Thursday (23 June) that Nick Pope had joined Newcastle United on a permanent deal.

Twine will offer them attacking prowess after his impressive breakout campaign for MK Dons.

He only moved to the club from Swindon Town last summer (2021) but ended the 2021-22 campaign as the League One player of the year.

The Englishman, who turns 23 next month, is now set to become Kompany’s first signing as Burnley manager.

In other news, Newcastle United have been tipped to plunder Burnley after a source’s update on a ‘superstar’ signing.
