Sources: Celtic confident Liel Abada will be worth £15m+ next year

Celtic are confident Liel Abada will be worth £15million-plus by next year, sources have told Football Insider.

The Glasgow giants have been thrilled by the development of the forward, 20, since his arrival from Maccabi Petah Tikva for around £3.5m last year.

He has established himself as a key member of Ange Postecoglou’s side and has scored six league goals already this term.

Abada has been linked with top-tier clubs in England and overseas, which is no surprise to the Celtic coaches.

It is believed they are expecting Abada to continue to develop quickly under Postecoglou and his staff, and he will be valued at in excess of £15m next year.

The Israel international notched 15 goals and 11 assists across 54 games in all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign – his first in Scottish football.

The winger has reportedly recently changed agents – swapping Israeli agent Dudu Dahan for Hussein Al Gaaod’s FSB organisation.

However, Abada has moved quickly to quell speculation, insisting he is focusing on his national team and remaining “humble” despite Premier League links.

The right-footed speed demon still has almost four years of his Celtic contract left to run.

Abada could join an elite list of Hoops exports if he can meet his coaches’ expectations.

Kieran Tierney, Odsonne Edouard, Moussa Dembele, and Kristoffer Ajer are among the players to leave for fees greater than £10million in the past five seasons (as per Transfermarkt).

Celtic and Abada will return to action in the Scottish Premiership against Motherwell on 1 October, before travelling to Germany to face Leipzig in the Champions League next week (5 October).

The Parkhead club sit top of the league despite falling to a shock defeat against St Mirren in their last game.

Rivals Rangers trail Celtic by two points after seven games.
