Sources: Celtic expected to accept £10m Liel Abada bid

Celtic are prepared to sell star winger Liel Abada this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has impressed during his time in Scotland, but he is keen to leave Celtic Park and is pushing the club to accept a bid.

The Scottish giants are resigned to losing the Israel international, and it is understood that they will accept bids of £10million to let him leave.

Multiple Premier League teams have enquired about Abada, while there is also strong interest in his signature from Ajax.

Abada has struggled for game time this season with Jota and Daizen Maeda climbing above him in Ange Postecoglou’s pecking order.

He has had to accept a role as a substitute this season, with Postecoglou only handing him 10 league starts in 2022/23.

Despite his decreased minutes, Abada has contributed 12 goals and seven assists across all competitions while only playing 1,843 minutes.

After missing four games with a hamstring injury in March and April, Abada returned to the side for their title-winning match against Hearts on Sunday (7 May).

Following the 2-0 win over Hearts, Abada was questioned on his Celtic future, and the young winger insisted he was in “no rush” to make a decision.

“There is no rush. I have time. Right now we just focus to finish the season strong and this is the most important thing,” Abada said.

Celtic are set to make a significant profit on Abada after signing him from Maccabi Petah Tikva for just £3.5million in 2021.
