Sources: Celtic slash price for star to £7m as January exit on the cards

Celtic are willing to sell Olivier Ntcham for around £7million this month, Football Insider has learned.

This site revealed earlier this week the Scottish champions have given the green light to the French midfielder leaving Parkhead during the January window.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the price for Ntcham, 24, has been slashed by around £5m compared to the last window.

Football Insider revealed that Celtic previously valued Ntcham at around £12million, nearly three times what they paid for him in 2017.

But the Hoops know there is little chance of getting above £10m for the midfielder in the current market.

A combination of Ntcham’s up-and-down form, a difficult market and the player’s contract situation mean Celtic will sell for around the £7m mark.

He has entered the final 18 months of his contract and is believed to be open to a new challenge away from Parkhead.

Huge changes to the first-team squad, coaching and executive teams are expected at Celtic between now and the summer on the back of a dreadful campaign.

Ntcham has had a mixed season in which he has showed only fleeting glimpses of the talent that made him a key member of the quadruple treble-winning side.

The former France Under-21 international has started just seven of Celtic’s 21 league matches and half of his 23 appearances in all competitions have come as a sub.

Since joining the Hoops in 2017, Ntcham has played 147 times and weighed in with 24 goals and 13 assists.
