Celtic midfielder Tsoanelo Letsosa is set to leave the club to join Man City-owned Lommel S.K. on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old is out of contract and has turned down a new deal to stay at Parkhead.

Letsosa impressed for Celtic’s academy side last season with four goals and five assists in 40 appearances and featured in the UEFA Youth League.

A number of clubs have shown an interest in Letsosa, but Lommel, who are part of the City Football Group, have moved quickly to agree a deal with the midfielder.

The Belgian outfit have a full agreement with the player following a breakthrough in talks, and the deal is expected to be completed soon.

Letsosa's Celtic contract expired at the end of last month, but the Hoops will be due a compensation figure after overseeing his development.

The Lesotho-born starlet came through the ranks at the Glasgow giants - moving into the B team last summer (2022).

He can play on either flank, in central midfield - and lead the line.

Luca Connell, Owen Moffat, Scott Robertson, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Leo Hjelde and Jack Aitchison are among the Celtic youth products to move to England for game time in recent years.

Letsosa is set to join the likes of Karamoko Dembele and Osaze Urhoghide in sealing a move to Europe.

Brendan Rodgers has succeeded Ange Postecoglou in the senior hot seat following the Australian's move to Spurs.

Celtic

Celtic won a domestic treble last season and will play Champions League group-stage football in the 2023-24 campaign.

Meanwhile, Lommel will play in the Belgian second division after a seventh-place finish in 2022-23.
