Sources: Chelsea and Man United told £69.5m will seal Lautaro Martinez deal

Inter Milan will demand a fee of £69.5million for Chelsea and Man United target Lautaro Martinez, sources have told Football Insider.

Both the Blues and United are still eyeing up a move for Martinez ahead of the summer window as both teams search for a proven goalscorer ahead of the 2023-24 season.

The 25-year-old’s contract at Inter Milan runs until 2026 and the Serie A side will demand a fee of almost £70million to let him leave the San Siro.

The striker has netted 25 goals in 52 appearances for Inter this season and put the nail in the coffin on AC Milan’s Champions League dreams last night (16 May) to send Inter through with a 3-0 aggregate win.

On Tuesday (16 May), Football Insider revealed that incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing the World Cup winner to Stamford Bridge this summer in an attempt to fix their goalscoring problems.

The former Spurs manager is set to be announced as the successor to Graham Potter in the coming days and is believed to be a massive fan of the Argentinian striker.

United have faced similar struggles in the goalscoring department this season with both sides lacking an out-and-out number nine.

The Red Devils’ main focus for the summer window is bringing proven goalscorer Harry Kane to Old Trafford but are actively monitoring Martinez’s situation as the end of the season approaches.
