Sources: Chelsea board change stance after Pochettino sack update
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino still has the full backing of the club's owners as they privately rule out a repeat of the trigger-happy sackings of last season, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (25 September) that Pochettino is not yet under any real sack pressure at Stamford Bridge despite the Blues' poor start to the season.
It is believed club co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly remain fully behind the ex-Tottenham boss.
That is despite Eghbali entering the dressing room following Chelsea's latest loss - a 1-0 home defeat against Aston Villa on Sunday (24 September).
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the club's owners have learned that "knee-jerk reactions" are not in the best interests of the club after their first year in charge.
Chelsea sacked both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter in the 2022-23 campaign - finishing the season with club legend Frank Lampard in interim charge.
Pochettino will not have European football to work into the schedule this season after the Blues finished 12th last season.
But the ex-defender currently has Chelsea sitting 16th in the Premier League table after winning just one of a possible six top-flight games.
The solitary win came against Luton, while draws against Bournemouth and Liverpool making up the rest of the Blues' points tally.
Chelsea's poor form comes despite an influx of new signings costing a reported £400million in the summer window.
British-record arrival Moises Caicedo, who cost a reported fee of £115million, is yet to hit the ground running for Pochettino's side.
Meanwhile, big-money forward signing Christopher Nkunku could be out injured until the end of the year.
